The back story:
- Be careful with reducing prices to ensure the money is spent with you. Cash-flow is essential but it is clearly different to profitability. January is going to reveal a raft of shocking results from the retail sector in particular.
- Work on your story. Why you are different, why you are special, why you are an investment and not a cost? Work on your customer service. Work on your basics. Work every check-list. They are all in here if you need them in full. That way you make your slice of the diminished pie larger.
- And consider being more flexible to expand the pie. You do corporate events. Could you also now advise companies on how they could effectively, safely and entertainingly run their own corporate events? Become unique and special at that.
- But whatever: stop talking about how tough it is. You know that: take clear focused, well reflected upon action.
